Oana-Maria Franţescu has been teaching foreign languages for a total of 12 years, out of which the first three in the pre-university system (English and French), and the rest as a tenure member of the English Department. She teaches TEFL Methodology, interpreting (she is also a certified translator and interpreter), and a number of practical courses in English literature (20th century) and communication skills.

She also collaborates with the British Council Iasi Cambridge Examination Centre. Since the beginning of this collaboration she has been interested in TEFL in areas other than just the pre-university education system – ie, standardization of testing, elaboration and evaluation of teaching materials, national examinations etc.

In literature, her research area includes Scottish literature, the history of British literature, literature of nationality, etc.
