The English Department has relations and/or projects with more than forty European universities through the Erasmus+ and CEEPUS (in the field of Inter-American Studies) programmes. These cater for teaching mobilities for faculty members and study mobilities for students, thus contributing to the exchange of academic expertise and dissemination of knowledge.

Apart from the very dynamic Erasmus +  and CEEPUS programmes, which add new partners every year, the English Department has traditional relations with the English Department of Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg and an outreach programme established in 1995 by the late distinguished Professor James M. Welsh with the support of Salisbury University President Thom Bellavance. This programme brought Romanian students to Salisbury for its master’s programme in English. Several of those students matriculated into doctoral programmes, becoming highly successful scholars.
