Dear C. S. Lewis and Inklings scholars & friends,

Intilnire CSLEWIS 2020 afisGiven the pandemic situation, the 5th International Interdisciplinary Conference devoted to the life and work of C. S. Lewis: Of This and Other Worlds to be held at the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi, Romania, has been postponed from November 2020 to November 2021. We invite you to become part of it, which will be yet another one in a series that we hope will last... Most of our announced speakers have already renewed their dedication, the accepted submitted papers are still accepted, and the door for more is open. An important part of our conference is about getting together here in Iasi to discover and celebrate the incredible spiritual heritage of C. S. Lewis and other Christian writers in a post-communist country and to share our affinity and joy, so you are welcome to join us next year! (http://simpozioncslewis.blogspot.com/)

However, to keep the succession of celebratory meetings unbroken, we would like to invite you on 20th of November of this year from 5.00 to 7.30 p.m. (Romanian time) to an online event under the generic headline:

C. S. Lewis & Kindred Spirits Connected

dedicated to celebrating the 70 years since the publication of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe - the first volume in The Chronicles of Narnia series.

Our special guests are Dr. Michael Ward and Dr. Malcolm Guite, who will introduce the theme of our conference, Of This and Other Worldsthrough the door of a Narnia at 70 dialogue, followed by a Q&A session and further networking time.

This is our courageous attempt to transform this year’s loss into an opportunity to get to know each other from all over the world, have a foretaste of the 2021 conference by meeting most of the speakers, including Dr. Philip Ryken and Dr. James Como, and also, share ideas, make plans and spread the news about the C. S. Lewis & Kindred Spirits Society for Central and Eastern Europe.

The cup of tea/coffee is optional and local!

We are very much looking forward to seeing you,

The Organizing Team
